Batter Up! Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop

Thanks for joining our Paper Pumpkin Alternative Blog Hop today. We are playing with the May 2021 kit called “Batter Up!” It’s a great kit…they all are. It’s so much fun to receive a box of goodies that are just waiting for you to put your special touches on! You can make the cards or project exactly as directed, or mix it up any way you want. Here’s what I did today. I started with two cards exactly as instructed. These will be perfect for a friend and my father-in-law for Father’s Day.

By the time I got to the third card, I had ideas of what I’d like to do with the supplies, so I broke off on my own. I love to stamp my own background and that’s what I did. I used the Bumblebee, Real Red and Early Espresso to stamp baseball bats and hats randomly on a piece of Basic White card stock.

Then I cut the striped background piece in half and placed it horizontally on the card base. I layered the stamped piece on with dimensionals. Don’t you just love the “You’re the best” sentiment? I immediately thought of my grandson. (Insert heart emojis here!) I stamped the sentiment on a Bumblebee piece of card stock, cut it out with a stitched rectangle die and layered it on the stamped piece. Now the kit didn’t come with “grandson” so I used my Real Red marker to color directly on the “g-r-a-n-d” portion of the Grandpa stamp and stamped it on the white die cut. Then I inked the “son” stamp the same way and since they are clear stamps, I lined it up next to the grand! Viola! I created grandson!

I love that baseball cap so I stamped one in Bumblebee and fussy cut it out! Lastly I added a few of the Real Red and Bumblebee enamel dots that came in the kit. What do you think?

I can’t wait to send it to my grandson! He’s going to love it! (I”m not sure he knows what baseball is but he LOVES getting cards in the mail!)
