Azure Afternoon Waves of Inspiration

I stumbled across the Color Throwdown Challenge recently and loved the color combination of Blue, Navy and Yellow.

These color immediately brought to mind the Waves Of Inspiration stamp set. Using Azure Afternoon, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight and a bit of Gray Granite I set about to create a scene for a birthday card.

Using the Rays of Light stamp set in the background fills in the card so well. I applied the ink to this large stamp with a blending brush trying not to ink the area that would be wave. The wave is bright and inviting and makes me want to dive right in. The pilings and bird were added in Gray Granite and the Happy Birthday strategically placed to cover where the pilings meet the water. A few Iridescent Basic Pearls add sparkle to the water but do not show up to well in the photos.

I think this is the perfect birthday card to send as summer is drawing to a close. I hope you’d be happy to receive it in the mail! I hope you’ll check out all the other cards made as part of the Color Throwdown Countdown 760. You will be inspired.
