“Almost” No Measuring Layout Special Day Card

It’s time for our Creativity Abounds Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world- all with different styles- who hope to inspire you to create beautiful cards and send them to friends and family. Each month we create a tutorial that you can receive with an order from one of us as well as a blog post. These are often centered on a particular theme or technique.

This month our theme is Special Life Events meaning more than just a birthday or congratulations card. Here is my card.

I created this card for a special little girl who will be adopted soon! It sure will be a special day for her and her adoptive family! This card features paper from the Mixed Up Patterns pack of paper. It has sheets of paper in it that coordinate with other packs of patterned papers available right now. That lovely sentiment is from the Reason to Celebrate stamp set and the cute flower is from Choose Happy. All of these stamp sets are available in my online store.

As I said in the title, this card layout requires almost no measuring. You start out with the following pieces of card stock:

• 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Old Olive Card Base scored at 4 1/4″
• 5 1/4″ x 4″ Pretty in Pink Card Stock mat
• 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ Basic White mat
• 4″ x 4″ piece of Patterned Paper in two colors that complement each other. NOTE: Both sides of each piece of paper will be seen.
